Brief description and main activities
The mission of Achiaa Greenlight School is to provide formal education,
produce future leaders and contribute to the shaping of Children in Ghana.
The school has about 700 students and over 50 employees. It admits children
who are between the ages of 2 to 16years into their daycare, primary and
junior high school departments.
Volunteer tasks
The school will like Volunteers to assist the teachers in performing their duties.
Some of the duties include:
- Teaching
- Planning of the course content
- Taking care of the Children
- Providing support to children who need special attention in some subjects.
Volunteer Requirements / Skills
They are open to receive Male or Female volunteers between the ages of
18-30 years.
They will also like to work together with students or high school
graduates who are culturally open-minded who like to enrich their lives
with new experiences.
The volunteer should be able to communicate in English since the official
language in Ghana is English and children are taught in English in school.
Location
The school is located in Suame in Kumasi. Suame is centrally located so all
other parts of the city can easily be reached. The district is urban with a lot of
social amenities like electricity, water, banks, hospitals, police station etc.
Hosting Situation (Board & Lodging)
Volunteers will be accommodated in the school as there is a furnished
apartment on the school compound.
